Slming Gtar: Check level and fill with steering gear lubri-
cant.

gear lubricant may be

gears and striker plates.
Luggage Comparlmenl Lid /..JJ,k C)londer: Lubricate with
powdered graphite.
Luggage Compartment L£d Lock Mechamsm: Lubricate mov-
ing
pans with
cup
grease.
EVERY 2,000-3,000 MILES
Engilll Cran1ccas8: Drain and refill, using lubricants

recommended on pages 23 and 26.

Hushing is desired,
use only SAE lOW oil

qts.), and run engine at fast
idle until oil
is
hot. Draio immecljately and fill with
correct
grade
of
oil.
Carburtior At, Inlet
E:dmsions:
Inspect screens and remove
any accumulation of foreign material. If extensions
are removed they must be aligned when installed with
the "V" on the extension in line with the center of the
boss
on the carburetor air
horn.
EVERY 5,000 MILES
Qist,ibulo,: Apply a little petroleum jelly to
cam.
Spa,k Plugs: Remove, clean and regap plugs to .035' .
Tires; Rorate tires as described on page
15.
Rta, Springs: Spring leaves are permanently lubricated
by
non-metallic liners and do
nOl
require periodic
lubrication.
EVERY 10,000 MILES
Front JlIhul Bearings:
Remove whC!el, hub and drum
assembly.
Clean and repack bearings wilh high melting
point grease. Do not pack hub between inner and
outer bearings or the hub
cap.
Adjust bearings as de-
scribed on pages
31
