Pull oul hand brake handle for

Loosen check nulS al cable ends. Turn the forward
check
nuts against the clevis plates to draw up each
brake cable until a moderate drag is felt when rotating
drum.
Tighten check nuts securely.

ENGINE

ments which provide a more rapid response to power
demands upon acceleration and at higher lOp .peals.
Along with Ihe ehanges made to the engine, triple carbun:-
tion to give an increased fuel-air eh;uge to the intake
manifold and a dual ahaust system that permits a rapid
expelling of ahausl

The combustion chamber of the new cylinder head has a
reduced overall volume to provide an increased compression
ratio.
The intake valvo arc made of silchrome steel and the ex-
haust valves of XCR steel to withstand high temperat.....,..
The high lift type camshaft has lobes machined to a greater
height to permit both intake and exhaust valves to open
farther into the head. This permits a greater charge
or
fuel-air misture to enter the intake manifold and the
cylinder during the high intake valve opening and at the
same time provides for more:: rapid expulsion of exhaust
gaso
to the exhaust manifold while the exhaust valve i. at
the high opening. The valve rocker cover
is
of new design
being retained in position by four slotted bead boilS and
baving tabo on the right .ide for attaching the ignition shield.
The intake manifold i. made of east aluminum and designed
to accommodate the three side mounted carburetors
(fig.
