    This remote is compatible with Terrova and Legacy Terrova motors. Installation instructions vary depending on the year your motor was manufactured. Before installing the CoPilot Receiver, determine which year your motor was manufactured. Minn Kota recommends looking at the trolling motor serial number to determine the year of manufacture. Review the "INTRODUCTION" of your trolling motor manual to determine the location of your serial number.
  • Page 5 INSTALLATION INSTALLATION Installing the CoPilot Receiver for Motors Manufactured 2016 or Prior NOTE: Please verify the year your motor was manufactured before beginning. See page 6 for details. a. Make sure that the Power Cables from the battery are disconnected, or that the breaker, if equipped, is "off".

With the CoPilot Cover removed, take the CoPilot Screw Peg Right Sideplate Receiver (Item #B) and position it in the space below where the CoPilot Cover was attached. Mounting Hole Position the CoPilot Receiver so that the Learn Button is positioned towards the upper left of the sideplate.
  • Page 7 INSTALLATION ITEM(S) NEEDED #3 x 3 #1 x 1 k. Take the new CoPilot Cover (Item #1) and place it CoPilot Receiver over the CoPilot Reveiver that was just installed. Power Antenna Connection Attach the CoPilot Cover to the Right Sideplate with the three 8-18 X 1/2 Screws (Item #3) using a #2 Phillips Screwdriver.

Take the CoPilot Receiver (Item #B) and position it so that the Learn button is towards the bottom right of the sideplate. The Antenna and CoPilot Power Connection should sit to the left and exit the board from the Antenna surface that sits towards the Right Sideplate.
  • Page 10 INSTALLATION With the Right Sideplate laying flat, and the Power Connection Right Sideplate CoPilot Receiver that was just installed facing CoPilot Receiver upwards, route the yellow wire Antenna through Antenna the pegs and grooves on the Right Sideplate. Follow the grooves in each of the pegs. Route the CoPilot Power Connection through the bottom groove in the Right Sideplate.
  • Page 11 COPILOT CONTROLLING THE MOTOR WITH COPILOT Review the complete CoPilot section of this manual to become familiar with this feature. High Speed Bypass Decrease Speed AutoPilot ON/OFF Steer Left Increase Speed Prop ON/OFF Steer Right Prop ON/OFF This button is located in the middle of the remote. It turns the propeller on or off. Press the button once to turn the propeller ON; press button a second time to turn it OFF.
  • Page 12 COPILOT COPILOT GENERAL OPERATION Operating with the Remote and Foot Pedal • The CoPilot and foot pedal can be used for motor control simultaneously. • The foot pedal and CoPilot remote operate on a first-in-line priority basis. If a button is pressed and held down on the foot pedal and a button with the same function is then pressed on the remote, the foot pedal will have priority.

    COPILOT AUDIO MODES There are three receiver Audio Modes available. The unit is factory set to Audio Mode 2. To switch from one audio mode to another, simultaneously press and hold the increase and decrease speed buttons for one second. The receiver will respond with 1, 2 or 3 audible beeps indicating the corresponding receiver audio mode change.

    COPILOT ADDING/REMOVING REMOTES The CoPilot remote came from the factory already "Learned" by the CoPilot receiver. Any additional remotes must be "Learned" by the receiver. The receiver stores all "Learned" information even when the motor is disconnected from a power source. To "Learn"...

    COPILOT b. Press and hold the Learn Button and power up the CoPilot receiver by reconnecting the Power Cables, or by making sure that the breaker, if equipped, is "on". c. Continue to hold the Learn Button down for 10 seconds.
