The MSA ALTAIR 2X display shows "OFF" when the button is pressed and held, and then released while "OFF" is displayed. This is the normal procedure to turn off the device. If the display always shows "OFF", it may indicate that the button is being held too long or there is a malfunction preventing the device from turning on properly.

Bump test frequency is often stipulated by national or corporate regulations; however, bump testing before each day's use is generally the accepted best safety practice and is therefore MSA's recommendation.
