PARKSENSE FRONT AND REAR PARK ASSIST —
IF EQUIPPED
The ParkSense Park Assist system provides visual and audible indications of the distance
between the rear and/or front fascia and a detected obstacle when backing up or moving forward,
e.g. during a parking maneuver.
ParkSense can be enabled and disabled with the ParkSense switch, located on the switch panel
below the Uconnect display.
NOTE:
ParkSense will retain the last system state (enabled or disabled) from the last ignition cycle when
the ignition is changed to the ON/RUN position.
ParkSense can be active only when the gear selector is in REVERSE or DRIVE. If ParkSense is
enabled at one of these gear selector positions, the system will remain active until the vehicle
speed is increased to approximately 7 mph (11 km/h) or above. The system will become active
again if the vehicle speed is decreased to speeds less than approximately 6 mph (9 km/h).
There are six ParkSense sensors located in the front fascia/bumper that monitor the area in front
of the vehicle that is within the sensors' field of view. There are four ParkSense sensors, located in
the rear fascia/bumper that monitor the area behind the vehicle that is within the sensors' field of
view.
NOTE:
• The front ParkSense sensors can detect obstacles from approximately 12 in (30 cm) up to 47 in
(120 cm) from the front bumper while the vehicle is in DRIVE.
• The rear ParkSense sensors can detect obstacles from approximately 12 in (30 cm) up to 79 in
(200 cm) from the rear bumper while the vehicle is in REVERSE.
• A warning will display in the Driver Information Display (DID) only when Sound and Display
is selected from the Uconnect System.
• As the vehicle moves closer to the obstacle, the DID will show fewer arcs and the sound tone
will change from slow, to fast, to continuous.
Refer to your Owner's Manual on the DVD for further details.

EIGHT-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

The transmission is controlled using a rotary electronic gear selector located on the center
console. The transmission gear range (PRNDL/S) is displayed both above the gear selector and
in the Driver Information Display (DID). To select a gear range, simply rotate the gear selector.
To access the L or S position, push down on the gear selector and then rotate it. You must also
press the brake pedal to shift the transmission out of PARK, or to shift from NEUTRAL into
DRIVE or REVERSE when the vehicle is stopped. To shift past multiple gear ranges at once
(such as PARK to DRIVE), simply rotate the gear selector to the appropriate detent. Select the
DRIVE range for normal driving.
