Conservation of inactive engines

In order to avoid corrosion in an engine that will be inactive for a long period, it is necessary to take the following measures:
1.
Correctly clean the outer parts of the engine.
2.
Run engine up to the normal operating temperature. Next, stop it and drain the oil from oil sump.
3.
Remove the oil sump, clean the oil suction pipe and replace the lubricant oil filter cartridge.
4.
Clean breath pipe.
5.
After reinstalling the filter, fill the oil sump up to the maximum level, marked on lubricant oil dipstick with SHELL ENSIS
ENGINE MOTOR oil.
6.
Drain the fuel tank and fill it with SHELL CALIBRATION FLUID B oil.
7.
Run engine until it reaches its normal operating temperature.
8.
Drain engine coolant from engine and radiator.
9.
Remove air filter or any extension of the intake piping and protect the air intake opening with adhesive tape.
10. Remove exhaust pipe and protect exhaust and intake manifolds openings.
11. Disconnect the battery and remove it for storage.
