    Regular service is required to keep your RockShox® product working at peak performance. Follow this maintenance schedule and install the service parts included in each service kit that corresponds with the Service Hours Interval recommendation below.   • Page 10 Do not scratch any part with a sealing surface. Inspect each part for scratches. Scratches can cause leaks and degrade product performance. Any part with a scratch on a sealing surface must be replaced. Apply only SRAM® Butter grease to Reverb parts, seals and o-rings.

  • Page 12 Use a 4 mm hex wrench to remove the saddle clamps and saddle from the seatpost. Use a 9 mm socket to remove the air cap from the post head. 9 mm Use a small hex wrench or pick to depress the Schrader valve and release all air pressure from the air chamber.
  • Page 13 Remove the seatpost from the bicycle seat tube while simultaneously Frame hose port pushing the hydraulic hose into the hose port in the bicycle frame. The hose port location will vary depending on the bicycle frame. Consult with your frame manufacturer for additional information. NOTI CE Do not pull the seatpost out of the frame if there is tension at the hose.

  • Page 16 Remove the seatpost from the vise. Clamp the lower post into the bench vise and Park Tool® AV-5 soft jaw vise inserts, with the post head facing up. Use a 34 mm, or adjustable, open end wrench to unthread the seatpost top cap.

  • Page 18 Spray isopropyl alcohol onto the upper post and inner shaft assembly and wipe them with a clean rag. Apply a liberal amount of SRAM® Butter grease around the inside of a new top cap assembly and onto the seals. Install the new top cap assembly, dust wiper seal end first, onto the upper post assembly over the seal head.
  • Page 19 Install a new bottom out o-ring and foam washer over the poppet valve housing assembly and onto the inner shaft. NOTI CE Do not damage the foam washer during installation. To continue with the 200 Hour Service proceed to Brass Key Installation.

    4 0 0 H o u r S e r v i c e I n n e r S h a f t D i s a s s e m b l y ⚠ WARN IN G - EYE HAZARD There may be remaining air pressure inside the upper post assembly.
  • Page 21 Wrap a rag around the upper post below the seal head. Use a 23 mm, or adjustable, open end wrench to unthread the internal seal head three full turns. Do not remove the seal head. 23 mm Wrap a rag around and over the internal seal head. Slowly unthread the seal head by hand while holding the rag over the seal head.
  • Page 22 Spray the inner shaft and RockShox® 3-hole vise blocks with isopropyl 11 mm alcohol and wipe them with a clean rag. The clamping surfaces must be free of oil and grease. Clamp the inner shaft into the 10 mm slot in the RockShox 3-hole vise blocks.

    4 0 0 H o u r S e r v i c e U p p e r P o s t D i s a s s e m b l y Clamp the upper post head into the vise with flat soft jaws. Remove the top cap assembly from the upper post and discard the top cap assembly.

    Slide the top cap assembly down until it is positioned below the upper post key slots. Apply a light coat of SRAM Butter grease to the outside of the upper post, above the top cap assembly. NOTI CE Ensure the dust wiper seal slides over the upper post without folding the outer lip of the seal.
  • Page 25: Internal Floating Piston (Ifp) Installation

    The IFP tube should be below the top of the upper post when it is installed correctly. Apply SRAM® Butter grease around the inside and outside of the new internal floating piston (IFP). Install the IFP into the upper post and onto the IFP tube.
  • Page 26 Set the internal floating piston (IFP) height. Use the chart below to determine the IFP depth for your Reverb Stealth B1 seatpost.     Do not scratch the inner shaft piston with the pick. Pick Apply a liberal amount of SRAM Butter grease to the inside of a new internal seal head assembly. Install the internal seal head assembly onto the inner shaft, threaded end first.
  • Page 28 Spray the inner shaft and RockShox® 3-hole vise blocks with isopropyl 11 mm 5.7-7.9 N•m (50-70 in-lb) alcohol and clean them with a rag. The clamping surfaces must be free of oil and grease. Clamp the inner shaft into the 10 mm slot in the RockShox 3-hole vise blocks with the piston facing down.

    4 0 0 H o u r S e r v i c e I n n e r S h a f t I n s t a l l a t i o n Clamp the upper post head back into the vise and flat soft jaws. Reverb Hydraulic Fluid Wrap a rag around the top of the upper post.
  • Page 30 Use a 23 mm crowfoot socket and a torque wrench to tighten the seal head to 28 N•m (250 in-lb). Use a rag to wipe away any excess fluid. NOTI CE Do not scratch the inner shaft with the wrench as this is a critical sealing surface.

    Suspension fluid level gauge Remove each poppet valve o-ring from the poppet valve. Install new o-rings onto the poppet valve and apply SRAM® Butter grease to each new o-ring. NOTI CE Do not apply grease to the area between the upper poppet piston and the o-ring just below it.
  • Page 32 Push the poppet valve down into the poppet valve housing and inner shaft, and press it into place with your finger. Remove the poppet valve cover o-ring. Install a new o-ring onto the poppet valve cover and apply SRAM® Butter grease to the new o-ring. Pick Install the poppet valve cover onto the poppet valve housing and thread it on by hand.

    L o w e r P o s t I n s t a l l a t i o n Apply a liberal amount of SRAM® Butter grease onto the seal head bushing. Apply a liberal amount of SRAM Butter grease to the inside of the lower post tube. Install the lower post onto the upper post.

  • Page 40 Hose barb: Thread the hose barb into the poppet valve cover. Use a 10 mm 3.4-4.5 N•m (30-40 in-lb) 7 mm open end wrench to hold the hose barb in position and use a 10 mm crowfoot socket and torque wrench to tighten the poppet valve cover to 3.4-4.5 N•m (30-40 in-lb).
