To replace the door lock solenoid, reverse the removal pro­
cedure, then do the following.
a.
Lock the door and activate the solenoid by pushing
in at the end of the solenoid that is opposite the
shaft.
b.
Make sure that the clearance between the solenoid
shaft and the lock lever is 0.02 +.006 inches (0.5
+ 0.15
value, loosen the screws that fasten the door handle
to the handle plate, then move the handle to change
the position of
screws.
If even greater adjustment is needed loosen screws
A and B (see Figure 4-19), move the door lock sole­
noid, and tighten the screws.
b.
Make sure that the lock pin protrudes beyond the
lock lever 0.06 +.006 inches (1.5 mm +0.15 mm)
Figure 4-20B). Adjust this value by moving the door
handle.
c.
With the solenoid activated the clearance from the
edge of the lock lever to the tip of the shaft of
the solenoid is 0.03 + .006 inches (0.7 mm + 0.15
mm) (see Figure 4-20B).
