After the collet assembly is in place, check that
there is no clearance between the head unload spring
and the spring plate (see Figure 4-3).

If the clearance between
spring plate is within specifications,
of the spring plate as follows.
a.
Make sure that the head load cam is in the unload
position.
b.
Insert a flexible disk into the drive until the disk
locks in place; remove the flexible disk and close
the door.
c.
Check with a feeler gauge that the clearance between
the spring plate and the surface of the base frame
is .044 to .060 inches (1.1 to 1.5 mm)
