The profile-merge utility recognizes a letter preceded by a hyphen

gmpf960 uses the syntax:

merged output or any of the inputs is a self-
contained profile, you must specify the PDB with
the Z option or via the
G960PDB
environment variable.
causes a self-contained profile to be produced as
output. This is the preferred usage of gmpf960.
specifies the output file. If a file with that name
already exists, it is overwritten. You can even
use the the name of one of the input files.
Whitespace is optional between the option and
argument. Note that this option is supported only
for merging raw profiles into another raw profile.
