Chain Tension Inspection

Check the amount of chain slack by moving the
vehicle slightly forward to remove slack at the top
side of the chain.
NOTICE: Never adjust or operate the vehicle with the
rear drive chain too loose or too tight. Severe
damage to the transmission and drive
components can result. Chain tension must be
inspected with the swing arm in the position
shown in the illustration so that the axle, swing
arm pivot and drive sprocket are aligned
horizontally (2).
The chain has a press-on master link. A chain tool
must be used if it's necessary to remove the chain
for service.
