4.6 Fuse Replacement

is located in the refrigerated compartment right rear corner, and is held in
place by a clip bracket.
1. Shut off sampler controller by pressing the
2. Prepare an ice bath in a 500 mL beaker, using a 50/50 mix of crushed ice
and water.
3. Remove the Reference Temperature Sensor from the bracket, and place
the beaker next to the bracket.
4. Place the sensor in the beaker/ice bath along with the lab grade
thermometer.
5. With the sampler controller off and the door closed, wait approximately 30
minutes for the reference sensor and lab thermometer to stabilize within
the ice bath temperature.
6. After waiting 30 minutes, mix (swirl) ice bath.

8. With the sampler controller in any one of the three standby states
("READY TO START", "PROGRAM HALTED", or "PROGRAM
COMPLETE"), press and hold the "Change/Halt" key for several seconds
until the display reads "CALIBRATE CABINET TEMP?". Press the
Yes/Enter key and the display will read "CABINET TEMP = __. DEG. C".
9. In degrees C, enter the reading indicated on the thermometer in the ice
bath, to the nearest one tenth degree.
Two additional questions will be displayed after the temperature is entered,
namely, "CHANGE TUBE DIA.?" and "FLUID DETECTOR SENSITIVITY
ADJ?". Press the No/Pass key to each of these questions and the sampler will
return to the standby state.
1. Locate the 5 amp Slo-Blo fuse receptacle on the back of the controller.
2. Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the fuse receptacle. Push down
gently on the screwdriver and turn the receptacle one-quarter turn,
counterclockwise.
3. Remove the fuse receptacle.
4. Replace the fuse with an identical fuse.
5. Insert the fuse receptacle back into the controller housing.
