Before Setting Oven Controls

Oven Vent Location
The oven vent is located as shown in
on, warm air passes through this vent. This venting is necessary
for proper air circulation in the oven and good baking results.
Do not block oven vent. Steam or moisture may appear near the
oven vent. This is normal.
Figure 1: Oven vent location
Always use pot holders or oven mitts when
using the oven. When cooking, the oven interior and exterior,
oven racks and cooktop will become very hot which can cause
burns.
Protective liners — Do not use aluminum foil
to line the oven bottom. Only use aluminum foil as recom-
mended in this manual. Improper installation of these liners may
result in risk of electric shock, or fire
Do not line the oven walls, racks, bottom, or
any other parts of the oven with aluminum foil. Doing so will
alter heat distribution, produce poor baking results, and may
cause permanent damage to the oven interior. During self clean
temperatures the oven will be hot enough to melt foil.
Important note:
This model comes with lubricated porcelain
oven racks which can remain in the oven during the self-clean
cycle. Do not clean this vegetable lubrication off the racks. It is
important that the sides of the oven racks always have a light
coating of vegetable oil. To maintain optimal rack performance,
re-apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to the sides of the rack
after every self-clean cycle or when the rack becomes difficult
to slide.
