Adjusting the speaker volume
and level

Press DVD SETUP when playback is
stopped.
The Setup Menu appears on the on-screen
display.

Press M or m repeatedly to select
"SPEAKER SETUP", then press
ENTER.

Press M or m repeatedly to select
"TEST TONE", then press ENTER.

Press M or m repeatedly to select "ON",
then press ENTER.
You will hear the test tone from each
speaker in sequence except for sub woofer.

Press M/m/</, repeatedly to adjust
the value of "LEVEL" and "BALANCE"
from your listening position.
The test tone is emitted from selected
speakers.

Press ENTER when you finish
adjusting.

Press M or m repeatedly to select
"TEST TONE", then press ENTER.

Press M or m repeatedly to select
"OFF", then press ENTER.
Tips
• To adjust the balance or the level without listening to
the test tone, select "BALANCE" or "LEVEL" in
step 3 and press ENTER, then adjust the balance or
level using M or m and press ENTER.
• To change the volume of all speakers at one time,
adjust using VOLUME +/– (or turn VOLUME
clockwise or counterclockwise on the unit).

x LEVEL
You can vary the level of each speaker as
follows. Be sure to set "TEST TONE" to "ON"
for easy adjustment.
Any items that are set to "NONE" in the "SIZE"
setting cannot be selected.
The default settings are underlined.
CENTER
Adjust the level of the center
speaker (–6 dB to +6 dB, 1 dB
0 dB
increments).
SURROUND
Adjust the level of the surround
speakers (–6 dB to +6 dB, 1 dB
LEFT
increments).
0 dB
SURROUND
RIGHT
0 dB
SUBWOOFER
Adjust the level of the sub woofer
(–10 dB to + 10 dB, 1 dB
0 dB
increments).
x BALANCE
You can vary the balance of the left and right
speakers as follows. Be sure to set "TEST
TONE" to "ON" for easy adjustment.
The default setting is underlined.
FRONT
Adjust the balance between the
front left and right speakers (6
– – – (CENTER)
steps left or right).
x TEST TONE
The speakers will emit a test tone to adjust
"BALANCE" and "LEVEL".
The default setting is underlined.
OFF
The test tone is not emitted from
the speakers.
ON
The test tone is emitted from each
speaker in sequence except for
subwoofer. The test tone is
emitted from selected speakers
during "LEVEL" or
"BALANCE" adjustment.
