x SIZE
When you connect or disconnect center speaker,
surround speakers or sub woofer, adjust the
setting for CENTER, SURROUND and
SUBWOOFER. Since the front speaker setting
is fixed, you cannot change it.
The default setting are underlined.
FRONT
YES
CENTER
YES: Normally select this setting.
NONE: Select this setting when
center speaker is not connected.
SURROUND
YES: Normally select this setting.
NONE: Select this setting when
surround speakers are not
connected.
SUBWOOFER YES: Select this setting when an
optional sub woofer is connected.
NONE: Select this setting when an
optional sub woofer is not
connected.
Notes
• When adjusting speakers setting, the sound may cut
off for a moment.
• Depending on the settings of other speakers, the sub
woofer may output the excessive sound.
• When you play a DVD that does not have sub woofer
output recorded, note that no sound is produced from
the sub woofer, even if "SUBWOOFER" is set to
"YES".
• When you connect an optional sub woofer, make
sure you set the SUBWOOFER setting to "YES". If
set to "NONE", no sound is output from the optional
sub woofer.
x DISTANCE
The default distance setting for the speakers in
relation to the listening position is shown below.

Be sure to change the value in the Setup Menu
when you move the speakers. When you set the
distance using the "QUICK SETUP" (page 13),
the settings are automatically displayed. Any
items that are set to "NONE" in the "SIZE"
setting cannot be selected.
The default settings are underlined.
FRONT
Front speaker distance from the
listening position can be set in 0.2
1.6 m
meter increments from 1.0 to 7.0
meters.
CENTER
Center speaker distance can be
moved up to 1.6 meters closer to
1.6 m
the listening position, from the
front speakers in 0.2 meter
increments.
SURROUND
Surround speaker distance can be
moved up to 4.6 meters closer to
1.6 m
the listening position, from the
front speakers, in 0.2 meter
increments.
Notes
• When adjusting speakers distance, the sound may cut
off for a moment.
• If each of the front or surround speakers are not
placed at an equal distance from your listening
position, set the distance of the closest speaker.
• Do not place the surround speakers farther away
from your listening position than the front speakers.
