Map Page with Declutter Off
Declutter 'Clear - 3'

Show/Hide Heading Line – (Marine Mode only) toggles between showing or hiding the Heading Line,
which projects from the current position (triangle vehicle icon) to show your current heading.
Show/Hide Directions – (Automotive Mode only) toggles between showing or hiding the directions
fi eld at the top of the Map Page display. Hiding the directions enables more of the map to be visible.
Change Data Fields – allows you to specify the type of data displayed in each data fi eld on the page.
Refer to the "Appendix" for a complete list of all data fi elds used in the GPSMAP 296.
Data Card Information – shows information about the detailed map data stored on the data card, and
allows you to select which maps are displayed or not displayed on the Map Page.
To declutter the Map Page:
1. Press repeatedly until the Map Page is displayed.

To declutter the Map Page in Aviation Mode:

The background map detail—including highways, cities, rivers & smaller lakes—is removed from the
map display.
3. Press ENTER/MARK again. Airspace boundary detail is removed from the map display. 'CLEAR-2'
appears below the map scale.
4. Press ENTER/MARK again. Only the waypoints/navaids that are part of the current Go To or route
appear on the map display. 'CLEAR-3' appears below the map scale.
5. Press again to return ALL detail to the map display.
