To select a saved aircraft profi le:
1. From the 'Aircraft Profi le' tab, use the
press .

To rename or delete a saved aircraft profi le:
1. From the 'Aircraft Profi le' tab, use the
press ENTER/MARK .
2. Use the ARROW KEYPAD to select the on-screen 'Rename' or 'Delete' button and press
. If 'Rename' is selected, use the
MARK
number.
'Weight & Balance' tab
'Weight & Balance' may be used during your pre-fl ight preparations to verify the weight and balance
conditions for your aircraft. By entering the weight and arm values on this page, the GPSMAP 296 can
calculate the total weight, moment, and center of gravity (CG) fi gures to ensure a safe fl ight every time.
Before entering the various fi gures, you will need to determine the basic empty weight of the airplane
and the arm (or "station") for each weight entered. These fi gures should be determined using the pilot' s
operating handbook for your airplane. The pilot' s operating handbook will also note the weight limita-
tions and fore/aft CG limits. Compare those fi gures to the values calculated by the GPSMAP 296.
