WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.

TEST #2: Water Valves

This test checks the electrical connections to the valves, and
the valves themselves.
1. Verify water supply is turned on and supply line is
adequate. Check the water valve filter if a humming noise
is coming from the water valve.
2. Check the relays and electrical connections to the valves
by activating the hot and cold water valves using the
Manual Load Test on page 2-4. Each test activates and
deactivates the selected valve. The following steps assume
one or both valves did not turn on.
3. For the valve(s) in question check the individual solenoid
valves:
a. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
b. Remove water valve access panel (located behind the
lid).
c. Check harness connection to solenoid valves.
4. Disconnect the harness from the affected water valve(s) –
see Figure 1. Check resistance of the valve coils across he
following valve connector pinouts:

Resistance should be 900 - 1,320 Ω
¾ If resistance readings are tens of ohms outside of
range, replace the valve assembly and retest.
¾ If resistance readings are within range, reconnect the
harness to the water valve(s) and continue to step 5.
5. Access the UI/Control Board.
6. Unplug the water valve connector CN3 from the UI/
Control Board. Check resistance of the valve coils across
he following valve connector pinouts:

CN3-1 (Violet) to CN1-3 (White)
Cold
CN3-3 (Orange) to CN1-3 (White)
Resistance should be 900 - 1,320 Ω
¾ If resistance readings are open or outside the range,
check continuity of the harness between the control
and water valves.
¾ If resistance readings are within range, replace UI/
Control Board and perform the Manual Load Test on
page 2-4 to verify repair.
