¾ If values are open or out of range, replace motor.
¾ If values are correct, go to step 15.
15. With an ohmmeter, check the harness for continuity
between the main control and "yellow" motor connector
at the harness bundle.
¾ If there is continuity, go to step 16.
¾ If there is no continuity, replace the harness between
the User Interface/Control Board and harness bundle
and repeat step 1.
Testing the Motor Capacitor (See Figure 3)
NOTE: A faulty capacitor may cause the motor to "hum", not
start, or turn slowly.
16. Unplug the connector to the motor capacitor.
17. Discharge the capacitor by touching the leads of a 20,000
ohm resistor to the two terminals of the capacitor
connector.

Method A: If your meter has a capacitance function, the
motor capacitor inductance should be between 28.5-
31.5µF across the connector terminals.
¾ If the inductance above is noted, continue to step 18.
¾ If the inductance is outside the range, open, or
shorted, replace capacitor and repeat step 1.
Method B: With an ohmmeter, measure across the motor
capacitor connector terminals and note reading.
¾ If a steady increase in resistance is noted, and the capacitor
has a resistance of ≥ 100K Ω, continue to step 18.
¾ If the capacitor is either shorted or open, or has a
resistance of < 100K Ω, replace the capacitor.
18. If the preceding steps did not correct the motor problem,
replace the UI/Control Board and perform the Manual
Load Test on page 2-4 to verify repair.
