RackSwitch G8264T: Installation Guide
This section describes the RackSwitch G8264T hardware components.
The following list provides an overview of G8264T hardware:
• Switch unit
• Mounting hardware
– Heavy duty 2-post rack mounting brackets and screws (included)

– IBM iDataPlex
– IBM System-x 4-post (extendable rail) rack mounting brackets and screws
• Hot-swap power supplies
• Hot-swap fans
Each RackSwitch G8264T series switch unit is a 1U rack-mountable Ethernet
switch. You can mount the G8264T in either the horizontal or vertical direction.
The RackSwitch G8264T allows for flexible mounting of the switch, as follows:
• The RackSwitch G8264T (front to rear) provides front-to-rear airflow.
• The RackSwitch G8264T (rear to front) provides rear-to-front airflow.
The switch unit contains the following ports:
• Forty-eight 10GBASE-T ports
• Four QSFP+ ports
• RJ-45 management port
• USB port for mass storage
• RS-232 serial console port
Note: Shielded twisted pair cables are recommended for use in the RJ-45
management port.
