5 Installation Guidelines

The following section contains installation guidelines to install the Iridium Edge.

5.1 Installer Qualifications

All installations must be done by an appropriated qualified installer. Do not install the Iridium Edge without
adequate training. If there are any questions or concerns regarding any installation instructions, contact
your Service Provider before installing the Iridium Edge.

5.2 Handling

The Iridium Edge should be carried by its enclosure.
Never carry Iridium Edge by its pigtail connector.

5.3 IMEI Recording

Before an installation, the Iridium Edge's IMEI number must be recorded along with the installation
location. The Iridium Edge's IMEI number is the network address for the Iridium Edge and it is used for
provisioning, billing and to send or receive messages to and from the device.
The IMEI number is located on the bottom of the Iridium Edge as per the picture below.
