Always   s ecure   t he   m achine   w ith   t he   s afety   s trap   R D4329   b efore   s tarting   t o   o perate   -­‐   f or   t he   u ser's  
protection   i n   c ase   t he   m agnetic   b ase   b reaks   l oose   w hilst   i n   u se.   F ailure   t o   d o   s o   m ay   r esult   i n   p ersonal   i njury.      
Always   w ear   a pproved   e ye   a nd   e ar   p rotection   w hen   t he   e quipment   i s   i n   o peration.   F ailure   t o   d o   s o   m ay  
result   i n   p ersonal   i njury.  
Disconnect   f rom   h ydraulic   s upply   s ource   w hen   c hanging   c utters   o r   w orking   o n   t he   m achine.   E nsure   t hat   t he  
hydraulic   s upply   i s   c onnected   a fter   p ositioning   t he   m achine.  
Never   p ick   t he   m achine   u p   b y   t he   c utter   a s   t his   i s   s harp   a nd   m ay   i njure   y ou.    
Always   e nsure   c utter   r etaining   s crews   a re   s ecure   –   t hey   c an   s ometimes   v ibrate   l oose   d uring   u se.  
Regularly   c lear   t he   w ork   a rea   a nd   m achine   o f   s warf   a nd   d irt,   p aying   p articular   a ttention   t o   t he   u nderside   o f  
the   m agnet   b ase.  
With   a   g loved   h and,   a nd   a fter   s witching   o ff,   r emove   a ny   s warf,   w hich   m ight   h ave   g athered   a round   t he   c utter  
and   a rbor   b efore   p roceeding   w ith   t he   n ext   h ole.  
Before   o perating   t he   m achine,   r emove   t ie,   r ings,   w atches   a nd   a ny   l oose   a dornments,   w hich   m ight   e ntangle  
with   t he   r otating   m achinery.   E nsure   l ong   h air   i s   t ied   b ack.  
Ensure   t hat   t he   m agnet   i s   f ully   a ctivated   b efore   a ttempting   t o   c ut   a   h ole.  
Should   t he   c utter   b ecome   ' fast'   i n   t he   w ork   p iece,   s witch   o ff   t he   m otor   i mmediately   t o   p revent   p ersonal  
injury.       D isconnect   f rom   t he   p neumatic   s upply   a nd   t urn   a rbor   t o   a nd   f ro.     D o   n ot   a ttempt   t o   f ree   t he   c utter   b y  
switching   t he   m otor   o n   a nd   o ff.  
If   t he   m achine   i s   a ccidentally   d ropped,   a lways   t horoughly   e xamine   t he   m achine   f or   s igns   o f   d amage   a nd   c heck  
that   i t   f unctions   c orrectly   b efore   t rying   t o   d rill   a   h ole.  
Regularly   i nspect   t he   m achine   a nd   c heck   t hat   a ll   n uts   a nd   s crews   a re   t ight.  
Cutting   t ools   m ay   s hatter   a lways   e xtended   t he   g uard   o ver   t he   c utter   d uring   t he   d rilling   o peration.   F ailure   t o  
do   s o   m ay   r esult   i n   p ersonal   i njury.   W hen   m oving   t he   m achine   e nsure   t he   g uard   i s   o ver   t he   c utter   f ailure   t o   d o  
so   m ay   c ause   i njury.  
On   c ompletion   o f   t he   c ut,   a   s lug   w ill   b e   e jected.   D O   N OT   o perate   t he   m achine   i f   t he   e jected   s lug   m ay   c ause  
injury.  
Ensure   a n   a dequate   s upply   o f   c oolant   i s   s upplied   t o   t he   c utter   d uring   t he   c utting   c ycle.  
Manual   h andling  
When   m oving   t he   m achine   a lways   e nsure   t hat   y ou   u se   t he   c arry   h andle   o n   t he   m achine   f ailure   t o   d o   s o   m ay  
cause   d amage   t o   t he   m achine.  
 
Caution   t his   m achine   i s   h eavy   a nd   m ay   r equire   h elp   m anoeuvring   e specially   w hen   w orking  
overhead.
