Diagnostics
Monitoring functions for the detection, localization, classification, display, and further
evaluation of errors, faults, and alarms. They run automatically while the system is in
operation. Plant availability is increased because these functions reduce commissioning
times and downtimes.

Distributed I/O systems

An F-CPU is a central processor with fail-safe capability that is approved for use in SIMATIC
