    "TRIP" mileage indicator This function shows the distance travelled since the trip meter was last reset. Holding button (1, Fig. 9) pressed in position B " " for 3 seconds when this function is displayed resets the reading. When the reading exceeds 999.9, distance travelled is reset and the meter automatically starts again.

    "TRIP FUEL" mileage on reserve indicator This function shows the distance travelled on fuel reserve. When the low fuel light comes on, the TRIP FUEL meter is activated automatically, regardless of the function displayed. Trip fuel reading remains stored even after Key-Off until the vehicle is refuelled. Count is interrupted automatically as soon as fuel is topped up to above minimum level.

    Adjusting the position of the gearchange and rear brake pedals The gear change and rear brake pedals can be adjusted to suit the preferred riding position of each rider. To adjust the position, proceed as follows: hold the rod (1) and slacken the counter nuts (2) and (3). Note Nut (2) has a left-hand thread.

Operate the pedal by hand to check that there is 1.5 to 2 mm of freeplay before the brake bites. If not, adjust the length of the master cylinder pushrod as follows: Slacken off the counter nut (6) on the pushrod.

    Tank filler plug OPENING Lift the protection lid (1) and fit the ignition key into the lock. Turn the key clockwise 1/4 turn to unlock. OPEN CLOSING Refit the plug with the key in it and push it down into its seat.

    Seat lock OPENING Insert the key in the lock and simultaneously apply downward pressure in the area of the catch to release the pin. Pull the seat backwards to release it from the front catches. CLOSING Make sure all parts are correctly arranged and secured in the underseat compartment.

    Removing the battery Important When battery must be removed, ALWAYS contact a Ducati Dealer or authorised Service Centre. Remove the seatpage 79. Unscrew the screws (1) and (2) securing the front tank cover (3) but do not remove the cover.
