Your FR-530 requires three "AAA" alkaline cells
or three rechargeable "AAA" cells. Alkaline
batteries w i l l provide the best performance from
y o u r transceiver. Remove the battery cover by
r o t a t i n g the belt clip away from the battery
compartment. Slide the battery cover downward
while applying pressure at the its grooved section.
Observe the polarity symbols inside the battery tray
when installing the batteries.

Incorrect battery installation can damage the unit.
The microphone / charger jack is intended for use with Audiovox
approved charging accessories only. Refer to the documentation
included with the battery charger.
Never attempt to charge alkaline batteries with the optional battery
charger.

Your FR-530 has a unique circuit designed to dramatically
extend th e l i f e o f i t s b a t t e r i e s . After 12 seconds of inactivity, t h e
FR-530 will switch to battery saver mode. While in battery saver
mode, the battery saver mode indicator is present on the display,
and the transceiver will remain ready to receive any incoming
transmissions while the battery saver mode is active. Pressing
any of the buttons, except the up, down or monitor button will exit
the battery saver mode.
