  • Page 3 Product introduction BM2100 s an audo montor whch conssts of one baby unt (BM2100 BU) and one parent unt (BM2100 PU). The parent unts may be shpped wth protectve stckers coverng the dsplays. Remove the protectve stckers before use.

    Getting started Parent unit battery installation You can power up the parent unt by connectng t to AC power or to the rechargeable battery pack provded. Even f the parent unt s connected to AC power, we recommend you also nstall the battery pack.

    Getting started Positioning and operating range Positioning the audio monitor Place the parent unt wthn the operatng range (see below) of the baby unt. We recommend you place the parent unt at least 1 metre away from the baby unt to avod audo feedback. If you stll experence audo feedback, move the parent unt and the baby unt farther apart.

    Getting started Operating range The operatng range of the audo montor s up to 300 metres outdoors or 50 metres ndoors. The actual operatng range may vary dependng on the envronmental condtons and other nterferences such as walls, doors and other obstructons.

    Parent unit settings Using the menu To enter the parent unit menu: Press MENU/ when the parent unt s not n use. BACK Press untl the screen dsplays the desred feature. Press SELECT to enter that feature menu. Press untl the screen dsplays the desred opton. Press SELECT to confirm your selecton.

    Parent unit settings Sound alert You may turn on the sound alert whle the speaker volume s turned off so that the parent unt beeps as soon as the baby unt detects sounds whch lght up four sound level ndcators on the parent unt.

    Parent unit settings Nightlight auto-on You can turn on or off the nghtlght on the baby unt manually (see page 17). You can also use the parent unt to set the nghtlght on the baby unt to automatcally turn on whenever sounds are detected from the baby unt.

    Parent unit settings Set default Use ths feature to restore to the default settngs. Restorng the default settngs on one parent unt wll only reset the shared settngs (senstvty and nghtlght auto-on) of the other parent unt. To restore to the default settings: Press MENU/ when the parent unt s not n use.

    Baby unit operation Power on or off the baby unit • Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn on the baby unt. The POWER lght turns on. • Press and hold for 2 seconds agan to turn off the baby unt. The POWER lght turns off.

    Parent unit operation Talk to the baby unit You can broadcast messages from the parent unt to the baby unt. To talk to the baby unit: • Press and hold TALK on the sde of the parent unt. The screen dsplays TALK when the voce connecton to the baby unt towards the MIC on the s made.

    Appendix Parent unit display screen messages When the battery chargng performance s CHECK BATT abnormal, the lght s off and the con flashes on the screen. When the lnk between the parent unt and the LINKED baby unt s establshed. The parent unt uses only the rechargeable LOW BATTERY battery pack and t needs to be recharged.

    Appendix Parent unit battery It takes up to 11 hours for the battery pack to be fully charged.     Appendix Troubleshooting If you have dfficulty wth ths product, please try the suggestons below. For customer servce, contact VTech on 1 300 369 193. My audio monitor does not work at all. • Make sure the baby unt and the parent unts are nstalled correctly (pages 2 to 5).
  • Page 31 Appendix Troubleshooting (continued) The audio monitor produces high-pitched noise. • The parent unt may be too close to the baby unt or another parent unt. Make sure the parent unts and the baby unt are at least 1 metre away from one another.
  • Page 32 Appendix Troubleshooting (continued) • Other electronc products such as HAM rados and DECT cordless phones can cause nterference wth your audo montor. Try nstallng your audo montor as far away as possble from these types of electronc devces. • Large obstructons may mpact the recepton. Try to relocate the baby unt, away from large obstructons such as walls and doors.
