the fuse and use the 3/16 inch dowel
to insert the O-ring completely and to
full depth to the edge of the plywood
piece that rests just next to the two
canopy attachment tabs. The reason
for the O-rings is two fold. First the
screws are less likely to vibrate
loose. Secondly and the most
important reason for the O-ring is
when you are removing the canopy
and loosening the canopy screws,
the O-ring will act as a threaded nut
to allow the canopy screw to
completely disengage from the
canopy tab. Without the O-rings the
canopy screws will not disengage
fully from the canopy tabs. So
beware of this situation. When you
have removed the canopy after a
flying session, the canopy screws
can be left in the fuse side with just
the threaded end of the screw still in
the O-ring. The screws should not
tumble out of the fuse.
Step 9
Get a dowel that fits snug inside the
fuse and cut it so it is flush with the
ultracote on the fuselage.
Step 10
Mark the dowel from the hole inside
the fuselage and drill a hole slightly
bigger than the screw diameter so
you can easily line up the hole on the
fuse with blind nuts on the canopy
tap.
Step 11
Once you dry fit the canopy
attachment, take the dowel off and
apply a think layer of epoxy and
insert it back in the fuselage hole.

Step 12
Use the screw and washer to tighten
the canopy.
