Section 3-Elevator, Rudder and Aileron Control Horn Installation

Required Tools and Adhesive
• Xacto knife, #11 Blade
• 5-minute epoxy
• Alcohol Swab/Alcohol and
paper towel
Elevator Horn Installation
Step 1
Locate the elevator control horn hole
that is covered by ultracote. Remove
the covering by xacto knife.
Step 2
Iron around the hole that Dubro nut
and washer to be seated and then
apply a small amount of thin around
that area for extra strength. Don't
add too much because you will have
problem sitting the nut and washer.
Step3
Insert the Dubro Heavy Duty Control
Horn System, Cat. No. 866. Insert
the 2", 8-32 through the top of the
elevator. Take the screw out and
apply a thin layer of epoxy inside the
hole. Wait until epoxy is hardened.
Step 4
Reinsert the 2", 8-32 provided
through the top of the elevator going
through the black washer provided in
the same package.

Step 5
Screw the Dubro nut piece so it is
flush with the top of the 8-32 control
horn. Note that don't over tighten the
screw because you will crush the
balsa on your elevator.
