    The device should only be repaired by trained service personnel. Advantech recommends that a service contract be obtained with Advantech Service and all repairs be conducted by Advantech; otherwise, the correct functioning of the device may be compromised.

    Before setting up POC-WP242, familiarize yourself with the locations and purposes of the controls, drives, connections, and ports, as illustrated in the figures below. When placed upright on a desktop, the POC-WP242 front panel appears as shown in Figure 2.1.

    Connect the 3-pin male plug of the power cord to an electrical outlet. Figure 2.2 Connecting a Power Cord POC-WP242 uses an IEC 60320 C5 coupler power cord. Users are reminded to pur- chase the correct power cord for your power outlet.

    Connect the grounding cable plug to the equipotential terminal pin. Running the BIOS Setup Program The POC-WP242 is likely to have been properly set up and configured by your dealer prior to delivery. Nonetheless, you may still find it necessary to use the Basic Input- Output System (BIOS) setup program to adjust the system information, such as the date/time or hard drive type.

    Introduction The POC-WP242 supports single-key driver installation. This allows users to install all the system drivers by clicking just one button. Warning! Use a clean OS for this single-key installation function. Otherwise, an unexpected error may occur.     Do not block the holes/ vents with any material. When the POC-WP242 is in operation, it is normal for the rear metal heatsink to become warm. The POC-WP242’s rear metal heatsink functions as a cooling surface that dissipates heat from inside the computer into the cooler air outside.

    Handle POC-WP242 with care. This POC terminal is made from metal, glass, and plastic and equipped with sensitive internal electronic components. Do not use an obviously damaged POC-WP242 terminal, such as one with a cracked screen, as this may result in injury.
