PROBABLE CAUSE
1. Air flow restricted
2. Diesel engine operating below
normal
speed.
3. Incorrect nozzle spray pattern.
4. Carbon buildup in exhaust system.
5. Excessive fuel pressure.
1. Insufficient air supply.
2. Discharge air restricted.
3. Burner control valve sensor element
improperly positioned in air stream.
4. Defective burner control valve.
5. Defective temperature selector
valve.
6. Clogged nozzle.
1. Defective burner control valve.

1. Fuel system leak.

REMEDY
Remove restriction.
Check engine speed. If incorrect
adjust to 3600 rpm (refer to engine
supplement).
Clean or replace nozzle.
Clean exhaust system.
Adjust pump pressure (see
paragraph 5.53).
