GE 800
*Note: The setting is saved in the ET 901 (min. firmware version 2.2) or in the ET 908 and is not
saved in the Intercom Server configuration – it can be entered for information purposes only!
In the column Host Name a name for the IP-subscribers can be entered which identifies the IP-sub-
scriber for the DHCP server. If no name is entered, a standard name will be used (when using DHCP).
In the column Version the firmware version of the IP-station / IP-box is indicated.
In the column StationType the station type (connected to the ET 901) is indicated.
In the column EB-Interface connected expansion/option boards are indicated.
In the column Password it is possible to advise a password for the individual subscribers,
"Passwords for subscribers" on page
Speed/Duplex:
In the combo-boxes Uplink and Downlink the ethernet operation mode of the network link (RJ 45)
can be selected:
Autonegotiation (Standard)
10MBit / half duplex
10MBit / full duplex
100MBit / half duplex
100MBit / full duplex
VLAN:
In the following columns the so called "frame tagging" (IEEE 802.1Q) can be configured – this also
means that the Ethernet header is extended by 4 bytes:
In the column Pri the priority level can be set (IEEE 802.1P), i.e. a total of 8 priority levels from 0 to 7.
The priority for the transmission of voice/speech shall be set to level "6".
In the column CFI the bit for the "Canonical Format Indicator" can be set (i.e. 0 or 1).
In standard, the CFI bit shall always be set to "0".
In the column VID the VLAN-ID is set (IEEE 802.1Q), i.e. in total 4096 (2
are possible, but "0" and "4095" are reserved.
Attention:
In standard, switches do not accept "tagged" Ethernet frames from terminal equipment (e.g. PCs,
Intercom stations)!
Therefore when using VLAN, an appropriate configuration of the respective switch is required!
Sending the configuration
It is possible to send either the entire configuration, only the configuration of IP-subscribers that have
been modified or the configuration of the subscribers selected in the table.
Open the drop-down-list next to the button Write Settings: and select
all: to send the entire configuration
modified: to send the configuration only to subscribers where settings have been modified
selected: to send the configuration only to subscribers selected in the table
Click on Write settings to send the configuration to the selected IP-subscribers. An acknowledgement
window appears before sending. Click on "Yes" to send the configuration.
Attention:
If an IP-address, which already exists in the network, is advised to a subscriber, heavy malfunctioning of the
network may occur. Therefore it is recommended to always receive the current configuration of the system in
order to avoid IP-address collisions in the network.
