Configuring the Preinstalled Solaris 10 Operating
System
To configure the preinstalled Solaris 10 Operating System:
1. Power on the workstation.
See the Sun Ultra 40 M2 Workstation Installation Guide, 820-0121.
2. Answer the setup prompts by following the onscreen instructions.
Use a copy of
TABLE 2-1
up the Solaris 10 Operating System.
To help you complete the information in the table, your system administrator (SA)
can provide you with information that is specific to your site before you begin.
Check with your SA about whether some of the information is available on your
network.
3. When you have finished with the configuration, the workstation reboots.
The workstation displays the login window, in which you can enter your user name
and password to log in and begin using the workstation.
Note – In order to access the icons for the preinstalled development software, you
will need to choose the Java Desktop System (JDS) desktop option before logging in.

"Setting Up Preinstalled Development Software" on page 37
information on the development software.)
4. Review the Solaris 10 Operating System Release Notes for any late-breaking
information about your preinstalled software.
