Error Messages

Refer to the table below if an error message is displayed.
Display
Battery temperature
is elevated. The
camera will turn off.
The camera will turn
off to prevent
overheating.
This card cannot be
used.
This card cannot be
read.
Card is not formatted.
Format card?
Out of memory.
Image cannot be
saved.
Cannot record
movie.
Save previously
recorded data as a
time-lapse movie?
Memory contains no
images.
Technical Notes

Error Messages

Cause/Solution
The camera turns off automatically. Wait until the
camera or battery temperature has cooled before
resuming use.
An error occurred while accessing the memory card.
Use an approved memory card.
Check that the terminals are clean.
Confirm that the memory card is correctly inserted.
The memory card has not been formatted for use in the
camera.
Formatting deletes all data saved on the memory card.
If you need to keep copies of any images, tap No and
then save the copies to a computer or other medium.
Tap Yes and follow the on-screen instructions to format
the memory card.
Delete images or insert a new memory card.
An error occurred while saving the image.
Insert a new memory card or format the memory card.
The camera has run out of file numbers.
Insert a new memory card or format the memory card.
A time-out error occurred while saving the movie on
the memory card.
Select a memory card with a faster write speed.
The camera turned off during route shooting or while
recording time-lapse movie.
Select Yes to create a movie with the recorded data.
Select No to delete the incomplete data.
Insert a memory card that contains images.
