Practical tips for storing wine

Always unpack bottles of wine do not store in crates
D
or boxes.
Place old bottles in such a way that the cork always
D
remains wet. There should never be an air gap bet
ween the wine and the cork.
Before enjoying your wine, you should slowly bring it
D
to the correct temperature and let it breathe first.
For example, rosé takes about two to five hours and
red wine takes four to five hours to reach the right
drinking temperature. White wine can be served
immediately. Sparkling wine and Champagne should
be cooled in the refrigerator shortly before drinking.
Remember that wine should always be cooled slightly
D
lower than the ideal serving temperature, since its
temperature increases by 2 ºF to 4 ºF (1 ºC to 2 ºC) as
soon as it is poured into a glass!

Drinking temperatures

The correct serving temperature is crucial for the taste as
well as for your enjoyment of the wine.
We recommend serving wine at the following drinking
temperatures:
Type of wine
Grand Bordeaux red
Côtes du Rhône red / Barolo
Grand Burgundy red / Bordeaux red
Port
Young Burgundy red
Young red wine
Young Beaujolais /
all white wines with little residual sugar
Aged white wines / Chardonnay
Sherry
Young white wines from late vintage
Loire/Entre deux Mers white wines
Air exchange through activated
carbon filters
Wines continue developing under the respective ambient
conditions, and the quality of air is crucial for their preser
vation. Accordingly, an activated carbon filter is installed
in the inside rear panels of the top and bottom compart
ments. We recommend that you replace the filter shown
once a year. You can order it from your specialized dealer.
Replacing the filter:
Grab the handle of the filter. Turn it 90º clockwise or
D
counterclockwise. You can now pull out the filter.
Insert the new filter with the handle pointed upward.
D
Turn it 90º clockwise or counterclockwise until it snaps
into place.
