Troubleshooting guide
Symptom
(working state)
Sound during loud tracks
somewhat distorted

(especially in
surround mode)
Loud buzzing noises

If your fault is not fitting to these descriptions, please take advice from your ELAC specialist.
Possible cause
Overload of main speakers
and their poweramp
Overload of center- or effect-
speakers and their
poweramps
Contact problems with RCA
interconnect
(adapter for extensions)
Hum form Source,
ground loop with RCA multi-
connections
Connect main speakers not directly at main amp, but
at Bass 130 Active "SPEAKER LEVEL OUT" as in
sketch A1 and A3.
Reduce center- or effect-level at surround decoder.
Use center mode "Normal".
Check all connections.
In order to have an acoustic monitor for bad faults,
reduce the level at Bass 130 Active to - 30 dB.
Possibly the outer rings of RCA plugs have to be
adjusted.
Check of Bass 130 Active for own hum: Power mode
switch to "OFF", disconnect all inputs, switch to "ON",
controls as in normal use.
With the ear near the speakers there should be a soft
hum, but none at the listening location.
