TROUBLESHOOTING

CAUTION: Disconnect the tool from air supply before performing any service
procedure.
PROBLEM
Trigger area leaks air
Lower body / nose leaks air
Upper body / nose leaks air
Failure to cycle
Fasteners driven too deeply
Skips fasteners, intermittent
feed

CAUSE
O-ring in trigger valve stem is worn or
damaged
O-ring in trigger valve head is worn or
damaged
Foreign matter
Loose nose screws
O-ring between body & nose is damaged
Bumper is damaged
Foreign matter between bumper and body
Loose screw connecting cylinder and body
O-ring is damaged
Gasket is damaged
Tool dry, lack of lubrication
Spring in cylinder cap is damaged
Head valve stuck in cap
Safety bracket position is incorrect
Air pressure too high
Foreign matter between small piston and
small cylinder
Small piston O-ring is worn & damaged
Tool dry, lacks lubrication
Foreign matter between small piston &
cylinder
Small piston O-ring is worn & damaged
Tool dry, lacks lubrication
Spring on the small piston is damaged
Air pressure is too low
Nose/ body connecting screws are loose
Stop hook does not stop fasteners

SOLUTION
Check or replace O-ring / lubricate
Check or replace O-ring / lubricate
Clean tool and lubricate
Tighten & recheck
Check or replace O-ring / lubricate
Replace bumper
Disassemble and clean
Tighten screw and re-check
Check or replace O-ring / lubricate
Replace gasket
Use air tool lubricant
Replace spring
Disassemble, check, lubricate
Turn adjuster knob to lower bracket
Decrease air pressure
Disassemble / clean / lubricate
Check or replace O-ring / lubricate
Use air tool lubricant
Disassemble / clean / lubricate
Check or replace O-ring / lubricate
Use air tool lubricant
Replace small piston spring
Raise pressure (not more than 120 PSI)
Tighten all screws
Replace taper spring in the stop hook
Use recommended fasteners
Use recommended fasteners
Replace gasket/ tighten screw
Open nail housing, place several drops of
air tool oil into the end cover hole of the
small piston
Replace bumper & lubricate small piston
Clean feed hook & torsion spring
Turn the adjustment knob to raise or lower
the nail restrictive plate to suit
Stop using
