    Chapter 5 Troubleshooting This chapter provides you a few useful tips to quickly get your ROBO-8716VG2A running with no failure. As basic hardware installation has been addressed in Chapter 3, this chapter will basically focus on system integration issues, in terms of backplane setup, BIOS setting, and OS diagnostics.
  • Page 66 Figure 5-3 P4 Power connector ROBO-8716VG2A requires power drawing from the 12V connector. The CPU supplementary power connector should be connected at all time for this P4 system to run properly. If the system’s main power comes from a backplane, the CPU supplementary power connector should still be connected.

The CPU supplementary Power Connector (J3) has to be connected to the system all the time. Otherwise, the system won’t boot up properly.
  • Page 68 Troubleshooting Step 3: Connect TOGGLE SWITCH (J10) connector on ROBO-8716VG2A (Figure 5-6), which is used to power on ATX Power Supply. Generally, the TOGGLE SWITCH is located on the chassis of front panel. Figure 5-6 Step 6: The figure below is the TOGGLE SWITCH, which is used to switch the ATX Power on/off for SBC.
