8. Align the three screw holes in the new system fan with the corresponding holes in the chassis. Then,
install the three screws to secure the system fan.
9. Connect the system fan cable to the system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 35.
10. Reinstall the system board shield. See "Replacing the system board shield" on page 100.
11. Reinstall the VESA mount bracket. See "Replacing the VESA mount bracket" on page 98.

Replacing the system board shield

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace the system board shield, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 88.
3. Locate the system board shield. See "Computer components" on page 31.
4. Remove the four screws that secure the system board shield and then remove it from the chassis.

5. Align the four screw holes in the new system board shield with the corresponding holes in the chassis.
Then, install the four screws to secure the system board shield to the chassis.
