Replacing the power button board
Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace the power button board, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 88.
3. Locate the power button board. See "Computer components" on page 31.
4. Disconnect the power button board cable from the power button board.
5. Press the two retaining clips that secure the power button board as shown, and then lift it out of the
chassis.

6. Position the new power button board in the chassis, and then slide it into the chassis until it snaps
into position.

7. Connect the power button board cable to the power button board.
