MAINTENANCE AND TUNE-UP PROCEDURES

This section describes the servicing procedures for each of the
periodic maintenance requirements.

ENGINE OIL/ENGINE OIL FILTER

ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK
Inspect the oil level before every use.
1. Place the outboard motor upright on a level surface.
2. Remove the motor cover.
3. Remove the oil level dipstick and wipe it clean.
4. Insert the dipstick fully into the dipstick hole, then pull it out.
5. Oil level should be between the full level hole (Max.) and the
low level hole (Min.).
If the level is low, add the recommended oil to the full level hole.
Recommended oil:
• 4 stroke motor oil
• API classification SE, SF, SG, SH, SJ
• Viscosity rating SAE 10W-40.
