Is the system NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) compliant?
Yes, all Navman GPS receivers support NMEA 0183 Version 2.20 and communicate at 57,600 Baud to increase the
performance of the receiver.
How can I get better battery life from my Pocket PC?
The screen illumination setting has the most impact on battery life. Select the lowest setting that provides adequate
visibility. The super bright setting will give the shortest battery life, so should only be used when the Pocket PC is
powered by the vehicle charging cable.
Tip: To lengthen the battery life, set the screen illumination to turn off if the Pocket PC is not used:

How much does it cost to run the system once I have installed it?
Nothing! The Navman GPS receiver uses data from satellites in orbit. This data is available, free of charge, for any user.
Where will the GPS 4100 work?
As long as the Navman GPS receiver has a clear view of the sky and horizon, it will work accurately anywhere on earth.
Note: in order for the GPS position to be displayed on a map, the map will need to be purchased and installed on the
PDA.
How accurate is GPS?
Accuracy of any GPS system will vary slightly over time. The Navman GPS is accurate to within 5 m (16 feet) for 95%
of the time.
Tap START, SETTINGS, SYSTEM, then BACKLIGHT (iPAQ) / BRIGHTNESS (DELL) / FRONTLIGHT (TOSHIBA).
Set the backlight/brightness/frontlight to turn off after 1 minute or less.
Set the backlight brightness/frontlight to turn on when the screen is tapped.
