8.3

ALTERNATOR ____________________________________________________________

Depress the belt at the center between the crankshaft
and alternator pulleys with a force of 11 lbs. (5 kg). The
belt should deflect approximately 0.2 in. (5 mm).
1. Loosen the pivot bolt at the base of the alternator.
2. Loosen the top bolt (E) and rotate the alternator
along the guide to increase or decrease the belt
tension.
3. While holding the alternator at this location, tighten
bolt (E).
4. Tighten the pivot bolt.
5. Verify belt tension and repeat adjustment if required.

REAR WHEEL ADJUSTMENTS _______________________________________________

To adjust wheel toe-in:
The rear wheels should be 1/8 in. (3.2 mm) closer
together at the front than at the back of the wheels.
1. Loosen locknuts (F) at each ball joint near the rear
wheels.
2. Rotate tie rod (G) until the wheel is correctly
positioned.
3. Tighten locknuts (F).
To adjust steering shaft:
Loosen nut (H) and rotate steering shaft in cylinder to
provide full steering right and left. Side of arm (J) should
contact pin (K). Check both sides.
