Density of the fluid handled
The pump input power changes in proportion to the density of the fluid handled.
CAUTION
Impermissibly high density of the fluid handled
Motor overload!
▷ Observe the information on fluid density in the data sheet.
▷ Make sure the motor has sufficient power reserves.

6.3 Shutdown/storage/preservation

6.3.1
Measures to be taken for shutdown
The pump set remains installed
WARNING
Unintentional starting of pump set
Risk of injury by moving parts!
▷ Ensure that the pump set cannot be started up unintentionally.
▷ Always make sure the electrical connections are disconnected before carrying
out work on the pump set.
WARNING
Fluids, consumables and supplies which are hot and/or pose a health hazard
Risk of injury!
▷ Observe all relevant laws.
▷ When draining the fluid take appropriate measures to protect persons and the
environment.
▷ Decontaminate pumps which handle fluids posing a health hazard.
CAUTION
Danger of frost/freezing
Damage to the pump set!
▷ If there is any danger of frost/freezing, remove the pump set from the fluid
handled and clean, preserve and store it.
Make sure sufficient fluid is available for the operation check run of the pump
set.

For prolonged shutdown periods, start up the pump set regularly once every
three months for approximately one minute.
This will prevent the formation of deposits within the pump and the pump
intake area.
The pump (set) is removed from the pipe and stored
All safety regulations are observed. (⇨ Section 7.1 Page 38)

Clean the pump set.
2.
Preserve the pump set.
3.
Observe the instructions given in (⇨ Section 3.3 Page 13) .

6.4 Returning to service

For returning the pump set to service observe the sections on commissioning/start-up
and operating limits. (⇨ Section 6.2 Page 34)
