When cleaning the side brooms and
roller brush, wear sturdy work gloves to
reduce the risk of cut injuries from sharp
objects.
Do not use a pressure washer to clean
your power tool. The solid jet of water
may damage parts of the power tool.
Do not spray the power tool with water.
Do not clean the side brooms or roller
brush with compressed air. The powerful
jet of air may damage the bristles.
Storing the Power Tool
When the machine is not in use, store it
so that it does not endanger others.
Secure it against unauthorized use.
Secure power tool to prevent it or the
push handle falling over.
To reduce the risk of injury, do not reach
into the hinge area of the push handle –
if the push handle accidentally falls over,
parts of your body may be pinched
between it and the housing.
Store the power tool in a dry location
with the on/off switch on 0 and the
battery removed.
Working Technique
Holding and Controlling the Power Tool
Your power tool is designed to be
operated by one person only. Do not
allow other persons in the work area.
KGA 770
Always hold the push handle firmly with
both hands.
Push the power tool forwards and adjust
speed to suit conditions.
Depress the push handle slightly to
travel over small humps up to about 2 to
3 cm.
If cleaning performance deteriorates,
check the side brooms and roller brush
for blockages or wear.
Debris level in hopper
The hopper is full if dust and dirt begins
to emerge sideways while you are
sweeping.
To continue working for a brief period, lift
the sweeper up at the front so that dirt
falls to the back of the hopper. This
helps make better use of the hopper's
full capacity.
When sweeping heavy material, e.g.
grit, loose chippings, the sweeper's
center of gravity shifts to the rear. This
tends to lift the side brooms away from
the surface and reduce cleaning
efficiency.
Maintenance and Repairs
Always switch off the machine – position
0 – and remove the battery before
carrying out any repairs or maintenance
work. This avoids the risk of the motor
starting unintentionally.
Service the machine regularly. Do not
attempt any maintenance or repair work
not described in the instruction manual.
Have all other work performed by a
servicing dealer.
STIHL recommends that you have
servicing and repair work carried out
exclusively by an authorized STIHL
servicing dealer. STIHL dealers are
regularly given the opportunity to attend
training courses and are supplied with
the necessary technical information.
Only use high-quality replacement parts
in order to avoid the risk of accidents
and damage to the unit. If you have any
questions in this respect, consult a
servicing dealer.
STIHL recommends the use of genuine
STIHL replacement parts. They are
specifically designed to match your
model and meet your performance
requirements.
Never attempt to modify your power tool
in any way since this will increase the
risk of personal injury.
