Operating the CD-ROM drive

Once the system is powered on, normal CD-ROM drive operation consists of loading and unloading
CDs. It is also important to be aware of the meanings of the Drive Status LED.

Power On

_
The CD-ROM drive is powered on when the host system is powered on.
_
Wait 15 seconds for the drive to complete its self-test. The Drive Status LED stays on during the
self-test.
_
Check the Drive Status LED to verify the drive passed the self-test. If the Drive Status LED turns
off, the drive passed.
_
When the self-test is over, CD-ROM drive operations can begin.
