REAR WHEELS
8. Secure axle bushing to axle mounting plate with
washer and outside jam nut. Securely tighten.
9. Reinstall the rear wheel from the wheelchair. Re-
fer to REMOVING/INSTALLING THE REAR
WHEELS in PROCEDURE 7 of the owner's
manual, part number 1073955.
10. Repeat STEPS 1-9 for opposite side of wheelchair.

NOTE: Refer to Procedure 1 - General Guidelines
which include GENERAL and SPECIFIC WARNINGS
concerning wheelchair stability.
NOTE: If converting from a 22-inch rear wheel to a 12-
inch rear wheel, REVERSE the following procedure.
1. Remove wheel lock. Refer to INSTALLING/REMOV-
ING/USING THE WHEEL LOCKS in PROCEDURE
8 of the owner's manual, part number 1073955.
2. Determine the axle bushing position for the
desired seat-to-floor height. Refer to CHANGING
SEAT-TO-FLOOR HEIGHT in PROCEDURE 9 of
this manual.
3. Remove the 12-inch rear wheels from the wheelchair.
Refer to REMOVING/INSTALLING REAR WHEELS
in PROCEDURE 7 of the owner's manual, part num-
ber 1073955.

11. Adjust anti-tippers. Refer to ADJUSTING THE
ANTI-TIPPERS in PROCEDURE 8 of the owner's
manual, part number 1073955.
NOTE: The orientation of the axle mounting plate
shown in this illustration is for 20, 22, or 24-inch rear
wheels. 12-inch rear wheel height adjusts in the same
manner.

NOTE: To maintain the same wheelbase width, note the
number of threads showing beyond the outside jam nut
for proper reinstallation.
4. Remove the outside jam nut and washer from the
axle bushing.
5. Remove the axle bushing and set aside.
6. Remove the axle repositioning washer from the axle
mounting plate. Set aside for later installation.
7. Remove the two (2) mounting screws, washers
and locknuts that secure the axle mounting plate
and mounting support bracket to the wheelchair
frame.
8. Rotate axle mounting plate 180
mounting support bracket on top of frame. See
FIGURE 4.
NOTE: For 12-inch rear wheels the mounting sup-
port bracket attaches below the frame. For 20, 22,
or 24-inch rear wheels the mounting support bracket
attaches on the top of the wheelchair frame.
