    Battery installation Installing the battery or interruption-free operation of the Missile Launch Sound Car, we recommend that you install a nine-volt alkaline battery (not included). Without the battery, the sounds will turn off and the start-up sounds will play at each interruption in track power.

With the RailSounds switch set to the RAIL position, the RPM sounds will vary with the speed of the locomotive. When the locomotive is not moving, the RPM sounds will vary with track voltage.

    • Your Missile Launch Sound Car comes factory-programmed with an ID# of 1. To change the ID# of your Missile Launch Sound Car, see page 9. Move ‘em out! • Throttle up or press any command button on the CAB-1 Remote Controller. Your Missile Launch Sound Car and your locomotive will respond to your every command.

    ID# to both the Missile Launcher Plug in the Command Base Locomotive and the Sound Car. Place the Missile Launch Sound Car on track To assign a new ID#, slide the PowerMasters set to CMD or traditional Command switch to PROGRAM. See power supplies ON FULL (no more than 20 Figure 2 on page 5.

    STEP 6: Turn off power to your track and wait ten seconds. STEP 7: Slide the Command switch to the RUN position. STEP 8: Place the Missile Launch Sound Car back on track, then turn power on to the track. STEP 9: Press ENG and the ID#, then operate as normal.

    Lionel L.L.C. or an authorized Lionel L.L.C. Service Center, together with proof of original purchase will, at the option of Lionel L.L.C., be repaired or replaced, without charge for parts or labor. In the event the defective product cannot be repaired, and a replacement is not available, a refund of the original purchase price will be granted.
