Using the special buttons

The computer is equipped with special buttons as shown in the following illustration. You can control some
functions of your computer through the special buttons, without the use of the keyboard.

Power button: Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Volume-up button: Press the volume-up button to increase the speaker volume.

Volume-down button: Press the volume-down button to decrease the speaker volume.

Windows button: Press the Windows button to open the Start menu; or press the Windows button to
wake up the computer from sleep mode.

Getting help about the Windows operating system

The Windows help information system provides you with detailed information about using the Windows
operating system to help you get the most of your computer. To access the Windows help information
system, open the Start menu, and then click Get started. Additionally, you can search from the taskbar to
find help, apps, files, settings, and so on.

Using the multi-touch screen

This topic provides instructions on how to use the multi-touch screen that is available on some models.
