Operating your non-powered locomotive

O
perate your non-powered (non-motorized) A-unit with any powered F3 A-unit
locomotive.
Place your powered locomotive on Lionel or Lionel-

compatible O-31 or larger track.
For prototypical operation, we recommend that you operate this unit behind a
powered F3 A-unit.
The ElectroCoupler should be towards the rear of the train.
Note!
Power up the locomotives with your transformer.

Your locomotive is designed to operate on 8-18 volts alternating
current. Virtually all Lionel and Lionel-compatible alternating-current
transformers are suitable.
Do not power your locomotive with direct current (DC). Damage to

sensitive electronic components may occur.
Move 'em out!

Get your train moving. Press the DIRECTION button on your Lionel
transformer. This sequences the Command reverse unit in the powered locomotive
to the next operating state.
This unit features directional lighting. When the locomotive is in reverse or neutral,

the headlight (facing the rear of the train) will illuminate. The headlight is off
when the unit is in forward.
