To guard against electrical shock, always unplug your computer from the electrical outlet before removing the computer cover.
 
Removing a Media Card Reader
 
1. FPerform the procedure

2. Lay the computer on its side so that the system board is on the bottom of the inside of the computer.
 
3. Remove the hard drive and shroud assembly (see

NOTICE:
Do not pull the drive out of the computer by the drive cables. Doing so may cause damage to cables and the cable connectors.
 
5. Disconnect the cable from the media card reader.

6. Push down the drive release latch and slide the media card reader towards the back of the computer. Then lift the media card reader out of the chassis.
 
7. If the media card reader is not being replaced with any device:
a.  Disconnect the media card reader cable from the internal USB connector on the system board, and remove it from the chassis.
b.  Replace the hard drive and shroud assembly (see

d.  Install an insert, if available, into the bezel to cover the media card reader bay.
e.  Remove the shoulder screws from the media card reader and attach them to the inside of the bezel insert.
f.  Replace the bezel (see

Replacing or Installing a Media Card Reader
 
1. If you are replacing a media card reader with another one, remove the shoulder screws from the old media card reader and install them onto the new
one.
 
2. If you are installing a media card reader into an unoccupied media card reader bay, perform the following steps:
a.  Perform the procedure
b.  Lay the computer on its side so that the system board is on the bottom of the inside of the computer.
c.  Remove the bezel (see
